Implementing Aruba WLAN

In today's world, a good Wi-Fi connection is essential for every business. This course helps IT professionals understand and build Aruba wireless networks using the ArubaOS 8.x architecture. We believe that to fix a problem, you first need to understand how technology works. Our lessons combine clear theory with practical steps to help you set up and manage Aruba systems effectively.

The course moves step-by-step from basics to advanced settings. To help you remember what you learned, every module starts with a short quiz about the previous topic. This is a great way to check your progress before moving forward.

Module 1: Wi-Fi and RF Fundamentals

  • Introduction to wireless networks and 802.11 standards
  • Understanding Radio Frequency (RF) basics: signals, bands, and channels
  • How RF signals travel and the behavior of RF signals
  • Understanding Wi-Fi technologies and regulatory domains

Module 2: Aruba Architecture and Deployment

  • Overview of Aruba wireless products and licensing
  • Introduction to the Mobility Conductor and Mobility Controller
  • Different ways to deploy Aruba networks in an office
  • Hands-on Lab: Initial setup of the Aruba Conductor and Controller

Module 3: Setting Up Access Points (APs)

  • A look at Aruba AP models
  • How APs find the controller and connect securely (CPSec)
  • How to organize and provision APs using groups
  • Hands-on Lab: Registering and configuring APs in the network

Module 4: Wireless Communication and WLAN Configuration

    • A look at wireless communication and frame types
    • Setting up security levels: WPA2, WPA3, Personal, Enterprise
    • Understanding client connection process and traffic forwarding modes
  • Hands-on Lab:
    • Secure Personal network (PSK)
    • Employee network (802.1X)
    • Guest network

Module 5: RF and Role Management

  • Using ARM and AirMatch to automatically select the best channels
  • Using ClientMatch to help devices connect to the best AP
  • Creating User Roles and Firewall policies to control user access
  • Hands-on Lab: Managing user traffic and optimizing Wi-Fi signals

Module 6: Introduction to Advanced Features

  • Understanding UBT and PBT wired tunnels
  • Basic introduction to AirGroup, AppRF, WebCC, UCC, WMM AirSlice, MPSK, and MultiZone features
  • Overview of Rogue AP detection mechanisms
  • Introduction to Aruba Central

After finishing this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand Wi-Fi Basics:
Use your knowledge of RF and 802.11 standards to identify why a connection might be slow or failing.
  • Build Aruba Networks:
Set up ArubaOS 8.x Controllers and APs to create a functional wireless environment.
  • Secure Your Users:
Create different Wi-Fi networks and apply firewall rules to protect data.
  • Improve Performance:
Use Aruba smart features such as AirMatch and ClientMatch to maintain optimal performance.
  • Find and Fix Wireless Problems Effectively:
Apply technical concepts learned in each module to quickly diagnose and resolve wireless issues.

This course is designed for IT Professionals who want to either build a modern Aruba Wi-Fi network from scratch or transform an existing Aruba Wireless infrastructure into a more manageable, user-friendly, and high-performance environment.
